These days it seems the world is all about abbreviations, truncations, nonsensical slang and new catch phrases that make a generation feel better about their sense of not fitting in. Of course, there’s YOLO - you only live once. This phrase likely coined in 1993 and popularized in the initial months of the 21st Century likely feels like an anachronism. Now advertisers have shifted from the beating of the “hop on the bandwagon” drum to FOMO - that is appealing to a person’s Fear of Missing Out.
Coming off the recent Mercury retrogradation and combined with Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces and opposite the Galactic Center’s longitudinal residence in Sagittarius, FOMO stands out as a most effective tactic in the current time.
Given that modern classical astrology may perceive Neptune in Pisces as shunned, ignored, and perhaps victimized by invisibility, the square to Mars in Gemini causes undue exasperation. There may be a scramble to find lost scribbled notes, audio files, and apply memory tricks all in the interest of establishing confidence in retaining facts on hand.
Conveniently, political campaigns are in full swing in the U.S. of A. Disinformation, deception, conspiracy theories and such are likely to run amok in the short term. And since social media platforms fly the flag of freedom of speech higher on the lanyard than concern for truth and accuracy, further information nonsensical scrambling is likely. The misleading suggestion sounds like: “Believe this and believe this now. If you don’t, you won’t be able to decide anything clearly for yourself, no matter when you consider the facts. Trust this.”
This is not only happening in political campaigns. It’s in advertising and permeating social media. It’s like driving though a haboob. Blinding dust is everywhere. A destination is in mind. Time is of the essence. What’s a person to do? After all, not arriving on time is tragic. However, not arriving at all is more tragic. Get off the dang road and allow the storm to pass you by.
The fear of missing out phenomena is classically Neptune. It’s an imagined concept. If any company constantly hammers its subscribers with there will never be a better deal than this one and we will never have another sale again, they seek to invoke FOMO. There’s only a few of what you scrolled over left. Have you actually taken the time to notice if those numbers of items in inventory that are the perfect fit or you and that you cannot live without actually changes? Does it honestly reflect purchases and the subsequent changes to inventory accurately, or is it part of the hype campaign?
Recall that despite the squares to Mars and the Galactic Center Neptune in Pisces also sextiles Uranus in Taurus. Things change. They always do. And sometimes the next sale may be better than the one in progress. On the individual front, Uranus in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces seek to locate and adhere to foundational perceptions that trust in the enduring, the eternal, and the providence of permanence. Like the Earth and the Sky... they’re there and have been since humans appeared and likely will exist if and when humans are no more.
Mars squaring Neptune is about a person accurately understanding that perceptions ultimately trickle down into the mundane and form thoughts and insights that may be applied to create previously unimagined solutions to persistent problems. Neptune stresses that once something is perceived, at some level of energetic manifestation, it becomes real. Once imagined, something is no longer unimaginable. Things cannot be unseen. Reactions are not unfelt simply because of new information. However, they may be altered (healed) by engaging new perceptions based upon including all new information.
Mars in Gemini serves the process of internal interlocution well. Mars can be used to assess:
What do you currently know?
What do you think about the situation at hand?
What methods can you comfortably apply that seek to resolve any conflicts in situations at hand?
And here Neptune and Uranus chime in, whether invited or not. They inquire:
What do you really want to do?
What do you believe you must do?
If different, can you locate the common agenda between these disparate causes? Most likely a look in the soul locker does the trick of closing such gaps.
A more thorough integration of these factors yields the following:
Is the question presented rhetorical or an actual request for information and insight?
If a question is a request, take a brief moment to order your thoughts in a logical sequence, then pull the trigger on your tongue.
For your own purposes, what do you know?
What should you do to apply what you know?
Can your knowledge efficiently resolve the circumstances of the moment or is more information required?
Can you mentally set yourself aside from life long enough to develop needed facts and figures?
Do you believe in your fate and that the cosmos works with your knowledge factors to produce viable karmic results in a timely manner?
Are you capable of concluding that there is no need to fear you are missing out on your fate?
Can you filter out the nonsensical noise?
Are you above repeating junk thoughts and conspiracies?
Is your brain reserved for directing action only that serves your soulful purposes?
Can you immunize yourself from the collective whirlwind that claims it’s almost too late and you might be missing out?
If satisfactory answers to the above result, you are good to go and to achieve what you must in a most timely manner. And off you go, not missing out on anything!
